Jefferson Park Pond
This small pond is near the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds and Garrison Middle School. It is open year-round for fishing, and is stocked several times a year. From February to June, the pond receives hundreds of 10-12 inch rainbow trout with the occasional jumbo rainbow trout. Since this pond is only open to kids 14 and younger, this is an easy outdoor activity for the family.

WHAT TO DO
Fishing
Enjoy year-round fishing at this in-town stocked pond. Stocked between February and early June, thousands of fish from nearby hatcheries find their way to the Jefferson Park Pond.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This park offers something for the entire family. Play structures and a small swimming pool might help keep younger siblings occupied. Basketball courts help pass the time for those over 14 years old. There are shaded spots to escape the sun if patiently waiting for the big one to bite.
Amenities
Parking and public restrooms are available. The park is located across the street from Super 1 Foods (grocery store) if in need of a snack.
Regulations
Only two trout over 13 inches may be retained as part of the five trout daily limit. Two-pole fishing is not allowed. Keep dogs on a leash.
Field Notes
The City of Walla Walla hosts a fishing derby in early spring. They close the pond and stock with hundreds of trout the day before the event. Local sponsors typically have poles available to borrow, and prizes are given out throughout the event. Make the kids catch dinner!
WHEN TO GO
Jefferson Park Pond is open year-round, so anytime your kiddo wants to fish is the time to go. We suggest checking the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife website for current stocking information.
HOW TO GET THERE
Located at 607 Malcolm Street, this park is adjacent to the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds and Garrison Middle School. If driving down 9th Street, you’ll notice the locomotive on display. The pond is very near that display. Turn on Malcolm Street to park.
