Kühl Product Review, Adventure Ready
What an honor to receive a few items from Kühl to review. Arriving on my doorstep in all its bright blue packaging splendor was a women’s AIRKÜHL™ Hoody in White Print and a Kruiser™ Getaway Short in Mauve Woodland. Both items topped my wardrobe favorites through my spring, summer, and fall adventures. Check out a short video featuring these items!

Kayaking the Palouse River (Photo Credit: Strategy Northwest)These items have seen hundreds of miles of trails, frothy river rapids and sandy beaches, and hours of bleacher time cheering on youth sports. Both are go-to pieces of my wardrobe these days, especially the AIRKÜHL™ Hoody. In fact, I just wore it to the rodeo at the Walla Walla Fair.
The AIRKÜHL™ Hoody in the Wild
While outfitters often boast about the performance of an item during activity, the AIRKÜHL™ Hoody quickly became part of my preferred outfit for youth sports. Hours spent in direct eastern Washington sun on bleachers through baseball season was a sunburn-free breeze.
I then took my hoody on tour to Banff, Canada, Silverwood Theme Park, rafting the Salmon River, multiple kayaking and paddleboarding excursions on local rivers, yard work, and everything else under the sun.
Overall, the AIRKÜHL™ Hoody is a great investment. It held up beautifully, not to mention smelled great despite my neglect to launder. I really appreciate the overall fit, namely the arm length. Prior to finding the AIRKÜHL™ Hoody, I would wear my son’s youth extra large because the arms were significantly longer than the women’s sizes (in other brands, of course). The hood is also cut nicely so not to constantly slide off a ponytail, providing protection for the face as well.

Silverwood Theme Park (Photo Credit: Silverwood Theme Park)Wearing my hoody to Silverwood Theme Park was thrilling to say the least. While my anxiety soared, I knew I didn’t have to worry about my sun exposure, and I would dry off quickly.
Designed for Fit & Comfort
In addition to the sun protection (UPF 50+), the fabric is what really impressed me. Materials science is not my forte, but the AIRKÜHL™ Hoody is a combination of polyester and spandex, while many other brands rely mostly on polyester. Perhaps it’s the combo that results in an airy texture that does not stick to the body like most comparable items.
Is there an opportunity for improvement? Maybe. I am a fan of the adjustable bottom hem as Kühl refers to it. It makes the hoody look more complete as an outfit. The long string that makes the hem adjustable is something to keep track of when finding your groove (my rafting peeps know what I mean).

Kruiser™ Getaway Short Go Anywhere
I’ll admit that I was widely distracted by my love for the AIRKÜHL™ Hoody. The Kruiser™ Getaway Short deserves attention as well. Built for the outdoors, this short is good on land and in the water. The back zipper pocket is much appreciated and adds to the overall finished look of the short. I was able to hike all day, let the sweat dry, and enjoy dinner on the patio of a local brewery all in the same outfit.
Kühl for Life
In my wardrobe, there are Kühl pieces that my mom passed along after years of use, and, now, I have a few new additions to add to the collection. That is what this brand provides—quality pieces that will stand up to the elements and the test of time.
